The Academic Success Center provides centralized support services to all undergraduate students at UMBC. Through a coordinated approach and an unwavering commitment to student success, the Academic Success Center fosters a welcoming environment that provides a one-stop opportunity through Academic Policy, Academic Learning Resources, and Academic Advocacy for students to achieve their academic goals and claim their future with a UMBC degree.
Academic Advocacy
Academic Advocates provide support to students in resolving academic and institutional challenges that may adversely affect their academic success, persistence and graduation

Small-group tutoring for all first and second level courses not tutored by other centers
Computing Success Center
Drop-in tutoring for Computer Science and Information Systems courses
Math & Science Tutoring Center
Drop-in tutoring for Math, Statistics, Science and Economics courses
Supplemental Instruction/Peer-Assisted Study Sessions
Peer-led study sessions for many Math, Science, Economics, Information Systems and Spanish courses
Writing Center
Tutoring by appointment for help on any written assignment for any class
McNair Scholars Program
Provides experiences to prepare first generation, low-income, and students who are underrepresented in graduate education for obtaining doctoral degrees
