The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently published "Rebuilding the Mosaic: Fostering Research in the Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences at the National Science Foundation in the Next Decade." One of the two primary authors of this report was Dr. Amy Friedlander.
For this event, she will be visiting UMBC to explain NSF's plan for these research areas over the next ten years. Faculty who could be funded under the NSF's Directorate for the Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences are especially encouraged to attend.
The report is online at http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2011/nsf11086/nsf11086.pdf
