Saturday Volunteering: Franklin Square Community Tire Drive!
Come help beautify and build a local Baltimore community!
Do you have free time this Saturday morning before Quadmania? Want to make an impact on the local Baltimore community?
Come volunteer to help out at the Franklin Square Community Tire Drive!
The event is on April 23rd from 9 am to 1 pm, and will start and end at the Sunflower Garden at 216 N. Carey St. The Franklin Square Community is partnering with the Baltimore Ecosystem Study’s Mosquito Project Team in a community clean-up project of all discarded tires in an effort to beautify the neighborhood and reduce mosquito habitats. They need 10-15 UMBC students to help. All participants will be invited to a BBQ immediately following the tire drive at the garden. This is a rain or shine event.
Please see the attached flyer for more details. The sign-up excel sheet is below. Carpooling will be available!
Hope to see you there, after helping ASME with the STEM Saturday outreach event with Franklin Square students (from 9-11:30 in ENGR 027)!
