Conservation/Sustainability Internships-All Majors Welcome!
Wednesday, November 16, 2011 · 12 - 12:45 PM
Every summer, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) hires students to fill over forty paid internship positions during a 10-week internship. These positions are available throughout the country and provide a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and the work being done in the world of conservation to promote a healthy, sustainable planet.
The Diversity Internship Program aims to attract individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and will match qualified and enthusiastic college and university students with internship suited their area of study. TNC ensures that each intern has a high-quality experience, a committed mentor and a relevant project that provides him or her with additional skills and training that will be useful in the future.
Interns begin the program with an orientation retreat (travel expenses covered) in which TNC leaders and students come together to share educational, professional and career experiences. Inters have used orientation as a great opportunity to build lifelong friendships, professional contacts and business connections.
Interns are selected based on their eligibility, qualifications and experience level related to the specifics of the job position. Applicants will be notified of the next steps within four weeks after the posting date ends with 2-3 phone interviews to follow for those selected as finalists. Additional information may be required before making a final decision. All applications will be notified of the final selection before mid-March.
Next year’s internship will be from: May 29 – August 10, 2012.
All majors are encouraged to attend. Please see attached flyer for interest areas. Recent grads (within two years of graduating) should attend too!
