Mark Murnane presented a talk entitled "Developing a User-Friendly Architecture for a CAVE2" at the third annual meeting of the CAAV -- the Campus Alliance for Advanced Visualization. This talk discussed work done to modify the π² facility to make it easier for users from outside the lab to make use of the display. The display has been migrated from a multi-node cluster to a single node, allowing more applications to run on the display including many that were not written with such a system in mind.
The CAAV Conference serves as an excellent venue for researchers to discuss issues pertinent to advanced visualization from a wide variety of perspectives. Members of the CAAV include visualization researchers, curators of museums, doctors, and librarians, among other fields.
