A UMBC sponsored talk by Sharon Cooper, social justice activist and sister of the late Sandra Bland.
You may recall her story in the news as the young woman found hanged in her jail cell after being arrested for a moving violation in Texas. The event entitled, "Be a Voice, Not an Echo" will be held on1/30/2016 at Red Emma's Bookstore and Cafe in the city. We are currently trying to secure a shuttle bus to transport interested UMBC community members to the event. More correspondence will follow if that possibility comes to fruition.

Language, Literacy, and Culture doctoral program at UMBC
