The Graduate Student Association (GSA) and Pigtown Food for Thought (PFFT) kick off the Fall 2013 semester with a brownbag lunch discussion
featuring Luz Rivera Martinez.
She is the co-founder and lead organizer of Consejo Nacional Urbano Campesino (CNUC) and works tirelessly to demand government accountability, defend family farms, resist the use of GMO seeds, and build inspiring, community-based autonomous projects. Participants will discuss their experiences with food sustainability and identify connections between Luz’s work in Mexico and our own neighborhoods.
