Creating a Positive Work Environment
Leadership Program for Faculty and Staff

On Campus : Community Center Multi-Purpose
Research conducted by the Gallup Inc., since the late 1990’s, indicates a correlation between a positive work environment and desirable factors such as employee engagement and job satisfaction.
Despite good intentions, resistance and obstacles often hinder the efforts to build a positive work environment. As a leader, what we don't know or ignore about ourselves and those we lead can foster a workplace at cross purposes with its self and the desired culture. To paraphrase Gandhi, ‘we need to be the change we want to see’ in our team and organization.
Fortunately, there is a methodology that enables us to map out the challenges of leadership and change and gain the insights needed to foster a positive work environment. As we take responsibility for our own inner change we are more able to understand and influence the larger system we seek to change.
This is a mini-cohort program for current leaders interested in expanding their leadership presence and awareness and enhancing their ability to influence positive change in their departments and the larger organization. In this highly experiential program based on grounded organizational theories, program participants will:
- Learn the systemic constellations model, which is based on systems thinking and the use of the self;
- Gain a better understanding of how their presence (verbal and non-verbal behaviors) impacts others and either hinders or supports the desired workplace climate; and
- Learn strategies to model and affect positive change in their department/organization.
The constellation methodology has been used mainly in Europe for a number of years and is now gaining more visibility in the US as an effective tool for professional and organizational transformation. Join us for this cutting-edge, rich leadership development experience!
