Mission Impossible
Help 6 teams compete in 6 STEM missions!

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is hosting an event for thirty middle school students called “Mission
Impossible” to promote Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math education through various hands-on missions/activities. 6 teams of 5 middle school students will be competing in the following missions:
Missions/Activities:
- Balls and Ramp: Create an obstacle course that serves as a clock that measures exactly ten seconds using the law of gravity.
- Windmills: Build a windmill that will lift the most quarters.
- Airplane Emergency Landing! : Build the tallest building that is able to support the weight of a toy airplane.
- Formula 1 Balloon Cars:Build a car that will travel the farthest using one inflated balloon as the driving force.
- Submarine Race: Build a submarine that will sink and come back to the surface the fastest.
- Egg Drop: Design a container that will stop an egg from breaking when it’s dropped from ten feet. (One quarter-sized piece of the egg must be visible.)
