Experience how social and ethical issues impact information technology around the world, such as persona, privacy, rights of access, security, transborder information flow and confidentiality.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
CMSC 304 will engage students in academic, experiential, and intercultural learning in and about the United Kingdom. Students will focus on comparing information technology laws, policies, and expectations between the US and the UK or the European Union.
PROGRAM DETAILS
- Community projects
- Visits to sites of historical and cultural significance, including Planetarium Nights, the British Museum, Royal Courts of Justice, a guided street art walking tour of Shoreditch, Stonehenge, afternoon tea river cruise, and a day excursion to Bletchley Park
- Experiential learning activities including culture workshops
