We will hear from Astra Bonini, Chief of the Integrated Policy Analysis Branch at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Astra is a sociologist with extensive experience in international development research and practice focusing on human development, inequality, and environmental sustainability. Astra and her team work to strengthen the science-policy interface for SDG implementation including through substantive support to the Global Sustainable Development Report and the High-level Political Forum. Astra was previously a senior researcher with the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations and a Research Scholar with the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University. Astra earned her PhD in sociology from the Johns Hopkins University and Master of International Affairs from Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
