Welcome to our Weekly Study Tip post! This week is about setting academic resolutions for the new semester.
You can check out our YouTube video on this topic and also download the accompanying handout from GoogleDrive.
Here are some tips for you, once you've set your goals for the semester:
1. Create Action Steps
Break those goals down into smaller and smaller goals until you figure out what you can do every day to make a little bit of progress towards them. That might be ten minutes of drilling your Quizlet/Anki flashcards, or maybe ten extra chemistry or math practice problems. Goals aren't met in one fell swoop - you have to work at them every day!
2. Track Your Progress
We have a list of apps we love for progress/streak tracking and keeping a good calendar! Check them out:
Habitica: https://habitica.com/static/home
TickTick: https://ticktick.com/?language=en_US
Habit Tracker: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/habit-tracker/id1438388363
Streak: https://streaksapp.com/
3. Create Some Accountability
Try studying with a friend, even if you're doing different things! Or have someone text you every morning to ask if you did the habit you're trying to build. It helps to have someone check in or even work in a group.
