The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free, virtual six-week summer enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for college students interested in the health professions. This program is administered by the American Dental Education Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges and is open to first year and sophomore students who are underrepresented in the health professions.
Some experiences that students can expect from this fully-virtual experience include:
• Academic enrichment in the basic sciences and math.
• Career development activities.
• Learning and study skills workshops.
• Virtual clinical experiences.
• Workshops in financial planning and health policy.
• Interprofessional education that addresses effective
collaboration across health professions.
