Reported Incident: Motor Vehicle Theft

Incident Description: The victim reported the vehicle was parked and secured in Lot 6 at 8:30 p.m. on 2/1/2024.

The reported incident occurred between 8:30 p.m. on 2/1/2024 and 11:00 a.m. on 2/2/2024.

Victims are not to blame. Perpetrators are responsible for criminal behavior. The following safety tips may reduce vulnerability:

• Stay alert and attuned to people are circumstances around you. Report suspicious activity to UMBC Police immediately.
• Remove USB cables from vehicles while not in use.
• Park in well-lit, highly visible areas.
• Lock your vehicle and take valuables with you.
• Consider purchasing a steering wheel lock or other anti-theft device.
