Islam 786: Campus Livin'
Tuesday, February 25, 2014 · 6 - 9 PM
Assalmau Alaikum Everyone!
On behalf of the UMBC MSA, we'd like to invite EVERYONE to our first major event of the semester on Tuesday February 25th from 6 PM to 9 PM for a fun filled event discussing campus etiquettes. We plan to accomplish campus interaction regarding Islamic ruling on Gender Relations and other necessary topics to discuss. There will be food and a pair of amazing speakers:
Dr. Arif Hussain, currently working at Johns Hopkins, former National Coordinator for Young Muslims and is one of the founders of YM-ISB. He's also a certified teacher for Arabic under Islamic Leadership Foundation as he taught an Arabic course at ISB during the 2012-2013 year where he was able to pass 8 students on basic Quranic Arabic introductory course.
Br. Jose Acevedo, currently serving as the Arabic/Islamic Studies and Quran chair at the Al Rahmah School, along with teaching the Quran Academy students various subjects and also along with being the Youth Director at ISB (formerly at Darul Hijrah), Brother Jose is well known in the DMV area.
His involvement and education background is well noted as he served Vice President for Al Huda School for many years.
Founder and Leader of the former Nomad Camps and also lead a team called "Andalus Troops" to the DC MIST tournament for many years before his involvement with ISB
The Food will be catered from chartwells, so we don't anticipate on having any problems!
See you all there insha'Allah!
