Iteration & Vestige: mapping time through daily creative acts:
My artistic practice has evolved into rituals and investigations of multifarious processes, materials, & skills. By approaching each new project as quasi-scientific experiments I create a structure within which I may guiltlessly play, research, and seek out the joy of new experiences. Digital methods of archiving and recording these experiments extend the life and accessibility of each inquiry. These vestiges of my recorded body, movements, and moments spent within the studio are displayed for others to witness, parse, and examine.
What began as a comforting study of process and materials has become a daily routine in which I allow myself the opportunity to be more present within myself, my work, and the studio. Each resulting physical work is imbued with its own historical contexts, traditions and methods which invite investigation and wonder.
