As part of the "Career Paths for Graduate Students" event on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, http://my.umbc.edu/groups/promise/events/19713, we will have a special session on "Global Opportunities."
Are you considering working for an organization with a GLOBAL or International focus, or going back to your home country, or just interested in pursuing a new experience overseas?
How do you find out about such opportunities? What do you need to prepare for a job overseas?
We invite you to attend this panel discussion.
We will have speakers from the Fulbright program and the U. S. Department of State.
Alisha Scott, Program Officer Middle East and North Africa from the Institute of International Education http://www.cies.org/, will be talking about the Fulbright Scholar Program.
Dr. Christopher Hofmann, Office of Policy and Public Outreach (OES/PPO) from the U. S. Department of State http://www.state.gov/e/oes/, will be talking about international careers at the State Department. He is also a UMBC alumnus (Biological Sciences).
Dr. Jaime Bonilla Rios, Dean of Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, is also planning to join us via Skype to talk about short-term visiting faculty positions at his institution. About Dr. Bonilla: http://www.gedcouncil.org/members-sponsors/jaime-bonilla
