The Office of the Provost is piloting three faculty mentorship workshop programs this year, beginning in October. These programs are intended to provide institutional level support to faculty at transitional moments in their career when it would be helpful to receive advice and feedback from others. The three centralized faculty mentoring programs are for new faculty (hired within the past three years), recently promoted faculty, and for new leaders (chairs, program directors, center directors, major committee chairs, etc). The workshops are optional and are designed to complement mentoring activities that are already taking place within departments and colleges.

Please do not hesitate to contact Orianne Smith, Special Assistant to the Provost for Special Faculty Initiatives, if you or your faculty have any questions or if you would like to schedule a meeting: osmith@umbc.edu.
