A former UMBC student, Shaun Johnson (aka Es Kay Johns) wrote and illustrated a children's book. It is currently on Kickstarter right now trying to find funding.
Why Was Six Afraid of Seven? was created to help prevent issues that children may face on a daily basis, and from my experience, one of the best ice breakers is to open with a joke!
The message that kids will receive from this book is that bullying is wrong and that there are better ways to solve problems and avoid embarrassing situations. The story presents kids with two different bullying scenarios, a verbal and a physical one, through which both situations are worked out by verbal mediation.
