UMBC public policy professor and graduate program director Dave Marcotte will present the inaugural lecture in the Spring 2012 Research Seminar Series in Public Policy and Economics at noon on Friday, February 10.
Marcotte's talk is titled "Public Higher Education Tuition and Enrollment." His writing on higher education, school closings and test scores has appeared in publications such as theWashington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Wall Street Journal, Baltimore Sun, Education Week and Inside Higher Education.
Marcotte is also known for his work on employment and training policy, labor economics and mental health policy. He has published numerous articles on these topics in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, the Southern Economic Journal, Economics of Education Review, and Social Science and Medicine as well as the book "The Economics of Gender and Mental Health" (co-edited with V. Wilcox-Gök).
