Keeping up with the Joneses' School District
Lecture by Randall Reback, Barnard College
Randall Reback, associate professor of economics at Barnard College, will present "Fiscal Spillovers between Local Governments: Keeping up with the Joneses' School District" at noon on April 27, delivering the final lecture in UMBC's Spring 2012 Seminar Series in Public Policy and Economics.
Reback's teaching and research focus on the economics of education, urban economics, labor economics and public finance, including topics such as schools' mental health services, school accountability and public school choice. His work has recently appeared in publications such as Economics and Education Review, Education Finance and Policy, and the Journal of Public Economics.
Since 2006, Reback has been researching "The Effects of No Child Left Behind on School Services and Student Outcomes," funded by the Spencer Foundation, the Institute for Education Services and Columbia's ISERP.
