Starting Up In Baltimore, Even If You Didn't Go To High School Here

There are lots of opinions on what makes one region better than another to do a startup. Conventional wisdom says you need to move to San Francisco, Boston, or New York, but Jason is going to make the case for why Baltimore is the best place to start and grow a technology business. He'll discuss some of the lessons he has learned over the past 25 years and how new entrepreneurs can increase their odds of succeeding ...mostly by not making the same mistakes he did.
Jason currently serves as the Executive Director of gb.tc (the Greater Baltimore Technology Council). He founded WhoGlue in 2000, which developed and managed social networking software and was acquired by Facebook in 2011. Jason is also working on a new social networking startup that is still in stealth, and recently co-founded a makerspace called the Baltimore Foundery. He lives in Phoenix, Maryland with his wife Karen, children Nick and Ally, and a small zoo.
