Entrepreneurial Speaker Series: Cheryl Burke-Schwarz DVM
Alum of the Year, 2000 & Vet answers, "Me, an Entrepreneur?"
Wednesday, October 30, 2013 · Noon - 1 PM
Cheryl Burke-Schwarz never really thought of herself as an entrepreneur, but rather as a small business owner who started a practice with the help and support of family and friends. She encountered several situations along the way that could have delayed, or put on hold, her plan to build and own her own practice. However, she persevered and today she feels very fortunate to have a great business and professional life, a career that she loves, and a healthy, active family. Come listen to Cheryl discuss some of the lessons she’s learned along the way, including the value of sweat equity in a start up environment,
learning to borrow only what you need and always having a back up plan (line of credit), understanding where your money comes from, and learning how to balance your family and professional life, probably the toughest, but most important, challenge an entrepreneur will face.
