Grad Students: Consider Teaching at a Community College
A PROF-it: Professors-in-Training Seminar
Friday, October 22, 2010 · 12 - 2 PM
On Campus : UC 310
UMBC and The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) have partnered to provide graduate students with an opportunity to have mentored teaching experiences. UMBC provides training for students during the Fall semester, and students are interviewed for paid ($2000) teaching positions for the Spring. The CCBC/UMBC Fellows Program offers a “student teaching” experience
for UMBC graduate students and a professional development experience
for CCBC faculty. This mutually beneficial program has operated very
successfully for the past four years.
CCBC wants to discuss the opportunities that are available on their campuses, and how to plan either a short-term or long-term career at a community college.
Special Guest:
Dr. Al Starr
Essex Campus Dean
Community College of Baltimore County
This is a "Brown Bag" seminar. Please bring your own lunch.
